Dark Pages

With the ‘Black Pages’ notebooks, I have aimed to evoke the excess of murders in Colombia, including the most absurd and incomprehensible: the ‘False Positives.’

With the fallen bodies, drawn on a black background, I sought to convey the darkness, horror, and pain of so many senseless deaths. I used charcoal dust to pigment the white paper as a means to create a somber space of death. The white outline of the fallen bodies evokes a presence, almost a ghostly shadow. The notebooks installed on the wall partially reveal other bodies in their half-opened pages, a technique I’ve employed to accentuate the endless nature of this violence.
